The promotion was held for three consecutive years with K-Market in Vietnam to expand the Southeast Asian market for Wando seafood products. This year, it announced the excellence of Wando’s marine products by introducing products that received ASC, an international certification for eco-friendly marine products, and organic aquatic products.
The companies participating in the promotion include Haecheongjeong, Segyero Fisheries, Daehan Mulsan, Wandoda Fisheries Corporation, Bada Myungga, Kelp Abalone Fisheries, Wando Sea Food, Wando Sarang S&F, Haenam Wando Special Products Distribution and Farming Association, Nuri Abalone English Association Corporation, etc. It is 10 places.
In the promotional exhibition, various products such as dried abalone, abalone porridge, frozen abalone, as well as seaweed, seaweed, and assorted seaweed were sold, and the participating companies and items were directly selected by K-Market.
According to data from the Korea International Trade Association, Wando-gun exported a total of $5.68 million of seafood to Vietnam in September 2022, despite adverse factors such as the global economic downturn and rising prices, more than doubling from the cumulative total of $2.33 million in the same month last year. appear.
The item that contributed to export growth this year was live abalone ($5.01 million), which accounted for about 88% of Vietnam’s export items and 16% of all live abalone exports in Wando-gun.
This is believed to be due to an increase in exports due to the recent surge in demand for high-quality aquatic products and imported aquatic products in Vietnam. Wando abalone, in particular, is a leading item in the seafood market, establishing itself as a premium seafood product locally.
Wando-gun regularly holds 1:1 export consultations by inviting Vietnamese buyers so that not only live abalone, but also flatfish, abalone processed products, seaweed, seaweed, and kelp can be steadily exported, and through holding various sales promotions with large local distribution chains, Promotion and marketing will be strengthened.

Meanwhile, as of November 2022, Wando-gun holds 39 ASC certifications (the largest in Korea) and 29 organic seafood certifications.
